The bronze sculpture is an advertising and popular figure for the town of Nienburg/Weser. The song "Ich bin die kleine Nienburgerin" was a popular folk song at the beginning of the last century. A competition was held on the occasion of Nienburg's 950th anniversary. Four years later, the 1.65 meter high and four hundredweight figure was unveiled.
