When the association was founded on 01 Jan. 2007, a separate, full-time office was set up for the German Fairy Tale Route. Located in Kassel, the "capital of the German Fairy Tale Route", it serves as the association's organisational and communication centre and as an operational unit for the maintenance and development of the German Fairy Tale Route as a theme route, brand and network.
Since 2018, it has been supplemented by a small second office in the "Sleeping Beauty town of Hofgeismar".
