Apart from the numerous fairytale figures of the Brothers Grimm, the incomparable fabulist Baron von Münchhausen also has a place on the German Fairy Tale Route.

Discover facts worth knowing about his life and his unbelievable and adventurous stories in the Münchhausen Museum. In a round tour through the historical old town, numerous sculptures, monuments and wall pictures recount his exaggerated tales. In the summer months (May to October) the Sunday Münchhausen performances delight young and old spectators.

Bodenwerder for holiday tourists and day visitors

Use the opportunity to explore the distinctive aspects of nature of the Weser hill country on foot by hiking on the Weserberg path or on a bicycle or e-bikes on the popular Weser bicycle path. Enjoy the shore landscape from a Weser steamboat, on a raft, by hydrobike or canoe. The all-weather summer toboggan run promises 950 m of tobogganing pleasure. Bodenwerder is an excellent starting point for excursions into highly attractive surroundings.
