The Wichtelsteig is a 2.2 km circular trail. The forest-themed GPS trail is primarily intended to appeal to young people and families with children.
The GPS trail on the topic of forests:
The natural biocoenosis in Central Europe is the forest.
Here in the Kalle Valley, a mixed beech forest predominates due to the soil types and climatic conditions.
Its biodiversity is based on the variety of habitats it offers.
These can be different "storeys" in a tree or its distinct root system in the ground.
Falled trees create new habitats through their root plates, as do forest edges through access to open fields.
The aim of our GPS trail is to show you different habitats of animals and plants in the beech forest.
Interesting information, short quizzes and other nature-related activities await you at seven stations.
