Wilhelmsturm

Short facts

  • Rehburg-Loccum

Panoramic view of the Schaumburg region

This historic tower is located in the southern foothills of the Rehburger Berge in the immediate vicinity of the village of Wölpinghausen, southwest of the Steinhuder Meer.

The Wilhelmsturm can only be reached on foot. Parking is available at the historic bathing facilities (Romantik) in 31547 Bad Rehburg (P1) or at the end of the village of 31556 Wölpinghausen on the L 370 in the direction of Münchehagen (P2). Hiking trails lead from both places through beautiful forests to the tower. The somewhat steeper one from Bad Rehburg is approx. 1.3 km long and the other, easier one, is approx. 1 km long.

The path to the Wilhelmsturm is part of the Brothers Grimm Fairytale Trail. Here you will encounter the fairy tale "Rapunzel".

You can relax at or in a small kiosk and enjoy the seclusion and tranquillity of the forest.

A tour of the tower is possible during opening hours (€1 per person).
