The Theater auf dem Hornwerk in Nienburg offers ten theater rings with a wide cultural range from drama to Low German amateur theater, from symphony concerts to children's theater.

Since its completion in 1989, the city of Nienburg/Weser has had a modern cultural center that meets all technical requirements. Since then, the cultural offerings have been varied and sophisticated. The repertoire ranges from symphony concerts to Low German theater, cabaret, opera and plays to European musical premieres. The modern theater with 625 seats in ascending rows is equipped with an orchestra pit and a stage with state-of-the-art stage technology.

Nienburg's theater takes its name from its location on part of the former town fortifications. It stands where the Hornwerk was once a strong bastion against foreign armies. The theater has been setting important cultural accents in the region for years. It is one of the best-attended guest theaters in Germany. Located directly at the mouth of the Meerbach, it forms a structural unit with the adjoining Wesersaal and the neighboring "Weserschlößchen" hotel.
