Mühlenplatz Gieselwerder

Short facts

  • Wesertal

Open-air exhibition Mühlenplatz

On the western edge of the resort of Gieselwerder on the road leading to Gottsbüren lies the open-air exhibition of the Mühlenplatz.

In the spacious, lovingly designed site, water mills, castles and palaces, churches and town halls from ancient times are shown on a scale of 1:25 and 1:40 true to the original. The water of the Lumbach is fed to the water mills via delicate channels and used to drive the mill technology.

The site was founded by Richard Wittich out of a hobby in 1969 and has been steadily expanded and developed since then. Today there are around 60 models on display.
