Once you have entered the park through the large gate, you are immersed in the world of fairy tales.

Since 2009, the fairytale park has been attracting fairytale lovers of all ages to the village of Mackenrode with its 265 inhabitants.

After entering the park through the large gate, you will encounter depictions of the fairy tales "Hansel and Gretel", "The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats", "The Frog Prince" and many more. From a viewing hill, you have a fabulously beautiful view of the village and its unique half-timbered church. In the centre of the park there is a large oven that can be heated and used to prepare fragrant dishes such as bread, cakes or flatbread.

Children can also let off steam in the nearby playground. Right next door is the "Am Brandholz" restaurant, which is of course also waiting for a visit.
The entrances are barrier-free. Children can play and run around undisturbed, as there is no main road separating the fairytale park from the playground or inn.

Directions

Der Märchenpark in Mackenrode ist mit dem PKW zu erreichen, es sind genügend Parkplätze vorhanden. Die Navigationsadresse lautet: Am Dorfpark 1, 37318 Mackenrode.

Aus Richtung Heilbad Heiligenstadt über Uder - Lenterode - Wüstheuterode - Mackenrode.

Aus Richtung Bad Sooden-Allendorf über Wahlhausen - Dietzenrode - Vatterode - Mackenrode.

 

Mit der Bahn ist der Ausstieg am Bahnhof in Heilbad Heiligenstadt und dann weiter mit der Buslinie 13 von Heiligenstadt bis nach Mackenrode.
