Fantastic things:
Fischbeck, a 1,000-year-old Romanesque Monastery with precious art objects and a medieval herb garden; guided tours. Shrouded in legend, Hohenstein Mountain has steep cliffs rising up 50 m high; with its rare flora, it is considered one of the most beautiful nature preservation areas in Northern Germany. Münchhausen-Hof in the Weser Renaissance style (16th century). Near Langenfeld, the largest natural waterfall in Lower Saxony where the water plunges down 15 m. Romanesque village churches in the neighbourhoods of Fuhlen, Großenwieden, Krückeberg, Lachem and Segelhorst, some of them with Late Gothic paintings. Old half-timbered houses in the historic old town.
