The ruins of Burg Plesse and castle complex are a favourite destination on the approach to Göttingen.
The fortified castle rises atop a wooded mountain ridge in the Plesse Forest. The ruins can be easily reached by foot or bicycle thanks to a network of well-maintained hiking paths and bike trails. Or drive comfortably by car from the German Fairy Tale Route.
From the Big Tower the visitor is offered breath-taking views overlooking the valley of the Leine, the bordering foothills and extending to the Harz and Solling mountain ranges.
