Bad Wildungen - Friedrichstein Palace

Friedrichstein Palace is situated 300 m above sea level on a hilltop surmounting well visibly Altwildungen. The palace replaced a castle, built in the 12th century by the landgrave of Thuringia. A special destination for every visitor is the military and hunting museum, existing since 1980, in the west wing of the palace.

Opening Hours:

Tuesday - Sunday: 10 am - 15 pm,
public holidays: 10 am - 5 pm,
Monday closed, December 24th, 25th and 31st closed.

Events:

The inner courtyard of the palace is the location of the international festival „Folk im Schloss" ("folk in the palace"). In summer, concerts of classical music take place in the baroque hall.

Catering:

In the palace café, with a broad terrace, you can enjoy coffee and cake in baroque ambiance in the afternoon. A various menu invites to feast in the evenings.
